Royston kung fu teacher Glen Stanway parties with Jackie Chan after being invited to the film superstar’s 60th birthday party
A DREAM came true for a Royston kung fu teacher as he attended birthday celebrations for the legendary arts superstar Jackie Chan.Glen Stanway, who teaches kung fu and kickboxing at Royston GMax Academy, met the star of the Rush Hour series and The Karate Kid remake after winning tickets to his 60th birthday party in China.The martial arts teacher then joined other fans from around the world in playing games with Chan.Mr Stanway told the News how he had entered a competition on the action star website in February.He said: I got the email telling me I was one of the lucky winners, I couldn believe it.had to ask my wife Lisa to read it to make sure I wasn mistaken. having trained in kung fu for 20 years, Mr Stanway had never visited the birthplace of the martial art before.Flying out for the first time this month, he visited the city of Tianjin and then the Great Wall, before joining hundreds of other Jackie Chan fans at the star birthday bash in Beijing.The film star played games with the fans, showed them old videos and photos from his life and career, and gave away over 60 items of clothing he had worn over the years, with photographs of him wearing them, as prizes.Chan then met and pos hollister clothing ed for a photo with each individual fan.Mr Stanway said: had two hours to be with 700 fans, so on a one to one level we just said you to eac hollister clothing h other, and he said forget to get your gifts gave every hollister clothing one a bag of merchandise.
